The Global variant of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro has bagged a new software update. At the moment, the Mi 8 Pro is in-line to receive the MIUI 12 update which should be rolled out within the next few weeks. According to a post on Weibo, the MIUI 12 update will be rolled out to all eligible smartphones from the second batch, of which, the Mi 8 series is a part of.
Nevertheless, this new MIUI 11 update for the Global Mi 8 Pro comes as version 11.0.9.0.QECMIXM and is rolling out to Global units via an OTA update. The update brings the June security patch for the device and comes with MIUI 11 running on top of Android 10. Apart from the increased security, this new update does not bring any other major additions.
Changelog:
[System]
Updated Android Security Patch to June 2020. Increased system security.
Another thing worth pointing out is that this is a beta stable update. Therefore, it will not be rolling out to all Global Mi 8 Pro users at the moment. Instead, it will be available to only a select few users. Once the firmware/build is considered to be free from any major bugs, it will be pushed to all users. This process usually takes a couple of weeks.
