Samsung has come a long way over the past few years in terms of updates. Gone are the days when one of the drawbacks of getting a Samsung device was the fact that you’d be stuck on the same version of Android for years. Today, the Korean tech giant gives even the likes of Google a solid run for their money in this regard.
Last week, we saw reports that Samsung was pushing out an update to its latest interaction of One UI, One UI 4.1 to users of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. in a bid to keep the tempo going, users of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G are in line for the same treatment starting today.
As reports now have it, Samsung is rolling out the One UI 4.1 update to users f the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G. This update also comes bundled with the latest Android security patch, March 2022.
This update bears the build number GVC5 and is currently rolling out in Europe, more specifically Switzerland, according to SamMobile’s database.

This update means that now, users of the Z Fold 2 5G can enjoy exclusive One UI 4.2 features such as:
- Seperate Right-Left audio balance from within the Sound Settings
- Extra brightness toggle for better outdoors viewing
- Pro Mode on more cameras,
- Better camera support for third-party apps
- Night Mode portraits
- Vibration patters like in OnePlus’ OxygenOS
- Smart Widgets and much more.
Perhaps one of the more interesting features is that comes with this version of One UI is RAM Plus. For the uninitiated, this feature allows users to ‘add more RAM’ to their devices. This allows the device to use a portion of the ROM to expand the device’s RAM, a feature that Chinese phones have boasted of for years now.

As expected, the update will be rolling out in phases over the next few days or weeks so the availability of this build for your device is dependent on your region.
