Today, we reported that Realme is set to release two new smartphones in India. These two smartphones will allegedly be called the Realme C12 and the Realme C15 which will be new editions to the Realme C series in the country. FYI, Realme has already released the Realme C15 in Indonesia. However, the Realme C12 is yet to be revealed.
As it turns out, Madhav Sheth — CEO Realme India — posted a new tweet suggesting the arrival of a new security feature for upcoming Realme phones in the Realme C series. In the tweet, Madhav claims that while Realme has offered face unlock on devices from the C series, the company is now “planning to upgrade to even better security for the upcoming devices.” This suggests that the upcoming Realme C12 and C15 will finally come with fingerprint scanners.
While our offering from the #realme C series featured a Face Unlock sensor, we are planning to upgrade to even better security for the upcoming devices.

At present, none of the phones in the C series lineup offer a fingerprint scanner. But as we know already, the Realme C15 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Thus, it’s also likely that the Realme C12 will feature a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well. This would be a huge improvement in security over the current face unlock option for users. Because unlike the face unlock on iPhones, Realme and most other OEMs simply make do with a 2D scan of your face.
Of course, this does not only apply to the Realme C15 and Realme C12. We can expect to see a fingerprint scanner on other phones that will be launched with the C series branding in the future. Unfortunately, neither Madhav nor Realme has provided an ETA for the release of either of the two upcoming phones.
